Job description

OHIO UNIVERSITY EASTERN is seeking candidates for the position of Lecturer of English. This non-tenure track part time 80% full time equivalency position is renewable, has full benefits and is to begin on August 16, 2017.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in English.

Applicants must have experience teaching first year composition and introductory literature courses and should be able to provide evidence of effective teaching. The position may also include Writing Center duties. This is typically a nine-month academic year contract with summer teaching possibilities. While online or distance learning instruction might be incorporated into the position, most or all courses will be typically taught on campus.

The Eastern Campus is one of five regional campuses of Ohio University and offers thirteen bachelor’s degrees, and the first two years of general studies for many majors. The campus is non-residential with approximately 1200 students. The campus is located near St. Clairsville,Ohio, 60 miles southwest of Pittsburgh and 120 miles east of Columbus. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in English at the time of application,
  • experience teaching first year composition and introductory literature courses with the potential to be a successful college/university teacher.
