Job Description Summary

Eastern Oregon University invites applications for an Instructor to teach one course, Dance for Musical Theatre (THEA 216) during Spring term 2019 (April 1, 2019, to June 14, 2019).

Eastern Oregon University’s Theatre Program offers a student-centered community of artists whose major focus is creativity and collaboration. Our aim is to stimulate and nurture artists who are willing to share the gift of their talents with the audience and each other.


Responsible for providing high quality educational experience teaching a lower division Theatre dance course, in consultation with the program faculty and through supporting the program’s learning outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Theatre or dance.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and the undergraduate level is required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check.
  • U.S. Citizenship or current residence status if required. Valid work authorization documents required.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Theatre performance or advanced training in performance. Experience teaching dance courses.

EOU’s passionate, caring, and distinguished faculty take pride in the close interaction and mentoring of students. Over half of all students matriculate beyond the boundaries of campus through its distance and online education courses. For students enrolled on-campus, EOU provides a learning environment that takes full advantage of updated classrooms and modern facilities including a brand new synthetic turf sports field and track, major renovation of the McKenzie Theater, restoration of historic north campus, and an upcoming new athletic field house.

Salary: Instructor rank salary is determined by weighted years of service based upon the faculty union contract.
