Work Schedule:
Half-time visiting position available beginning September 1, 2018. Academic year is September to May.

General Description:
Pacific Lutheran University invites applications for a half-time, 9-month Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor position beginning September 1, 2018.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Teach three sections of courses for non-majors, including CSCI 115 Solve it with the Computer (mathematical reasoning using spreadsheets and intro Python programming) and CSCI 120 Computerized Information Systems (Excel with business applications).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Commitment to excellence in teaching and a strong interest in liberal arts education.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in computer science or related field from an accredited institution must be in hand by September 1, 2018 for appointment at the Visiting Assistant Professor level. ABD or M.S. is required by September 1, 2018 for appointment at the Instructor level.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
