The Department of Agriculture in the College of Science & Engineering at Southern Arkansas University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track, academic-year appointment assistant or associate professor position in Agribusiness. The rapidly growing Department of Agriculture is located in a modern and well-equipped 33,000 square foot Agriculture Science building.

The successful candidate will have excellent research, teaching, communication and quantitative skills and a willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team of faculty. The incumbent will also have opportunities to help shape the future direction of the agribusiness program in the Department through teaching, advisement, research, curriculum design, outreach to the business community and other stakeholders.

Duties: contribute to department, college, and university service activities; teach undergraduate courses in agribusiness entrepreneurship, data management in agriculture, and agribusiness marketing; contribute to the department’s related programs through mentoring and advising; develop an active, innovative, externally funded, and nationally recognized research program focused on agribusiness entrepreneurship, agribusiness finance, agribusiness marketing, and some similar areas that serve the Department priorities; generate publications in leading field journals; contribute to the Department strategic visions through excellence in undergraduate education, innovative partnerships, community engagement, entrepreneurship, and scholarly activities and other duties assigned. Collaboration with other faculty and professionals in related fields is strongly encouraged.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in agribusiness or agricultural economics with strong emphasis in agribusiness entrepreneurship or a closely related field at the time employment begins. Successful candidates are expected to have demonstrated excellence (or the potential for excellence in research and have a dedicated interest in high quality teaching at the undergraduate level).
