Overview and Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Professor of Biology for the Winona Campus. This full time term faculty position in the department of Biology that will start in August of 2025. This individual will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the university, including teaching undergraduate Physiology with lab for the Biology major, General Biology and lab, and/or upper division course in Exercise Physiology. Additionally, the individual will contribute to student advising, service on departmental committees; and engage in research appropriate for undergraduates. At Saint Mary’s the standard teaching load is 22-24 credit hours per contract year, and this individual will be expected to teach this load covering foundational and upper-level areas of undergraduate biology lecture and lab courses, as well as appropriate courses in the Saint Mary’s University general education program.

Salary range: $52k – $62k

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree (preferred) or terminal degree in a Physiology or Exercise Physiology related program.
  • Experience or evidence of potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate biology.
  • Active engagement in research amenable toward mentoring undergraduates and potential for leading to extramural funding and co-publication with students.
