Yerevan, Armenia

The Political Science and International Affairs Program of the American University of Armenia (AUA) is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position starting in August 2020, at the level of assistant professor and associate professor. Adjunct professors from AUA may also apply.

Faculty positions at AUA typically involve teaching three courses per semester, pursuing research activities, and engaging in program development and university service. The position will require teaching courses in the program’s two-year Master’s degree. Faculty also usually teach courses at undergraduate level in AUA’s General Education program.

Qualifications: The successful candidate likely will hold a PhD in political science or a related field and will be able to teach courses in the area of specialization of International Relations such as EU politics, Eurasian geopolitics, and/or international organizations. Area of competence in Policy and Development may also be an advantage. Service in government and/or international organizations may also be taken into account.

Evidence of excellence in teaching, research, and service is required. Experience in conducting academic duties in an international setting or teaching non-native English speakers will also be an advantage.

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with university-wide pay scale, qualifications and experience. AUA provides health insurance.
