Position Description
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
The School of Financial Planning’s Personal Finance Program in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a part-time adjunct 9-month remote instructor position. This non-tenure track position would have an optional summer teaching-position to begin December 15th, 2024.

Required Qualifications
In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate level.

Specific required qualifications are:
1. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in personal finance or a closely related discipline (e.g., family & consumer sciences, financial planning, consumer & family economics, family resource management).
2. AFC certification required or in the process of obtaining the AFC certification (educational requirements satisfied and evidence of studying and taking the exam within the next 3 months on resume).
3. Online college-level teaching experience or relevant industry experience in a financial service industry field. 3-year minimum

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
1. Working with diverse populations in online courses or through relevant financial service industry experiences as evident in application documents (cover letter, resume, curriculum vitae).
2. A motivated and enthusiastic persona with excellent communication skills, both oral & written, as evident in application documents (cover letter, resume, curriculum vitae, and interview(s)).
3. Experience in curriculum development for online courses.
4. Active membership in relevant professional organizations is desired.
5. CFP certification.
