Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The division cares for a unique array of critically ill patients in a diverse, underserved population. As the only academic medical center for the state, opportunity exists for innovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures. We seek a clinician that will provide consultative services on the inpatient services and outpatient clinics. We have a 24 bed MICU and a variety of specialized pulmonary programs. This position is for an Assistant/Associate, open track. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education.

This position may be subject to a criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico law.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine; and
  • Board certified/eligible in pulmonary disease

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in academic medical centers and intensive care units
  • Experience with education of fellows and house staff in pulmonary and critical care
  • Evidence of scholarship with peer reviewed publications/national presentations
  • Evidence of EBUS and advanced diagnostic experience
