Job Summary

The Professor of Practice, Executive Director position is responsible for the following: oversee the daily operations of the Institute for Civic and Global Leadership (formerly the Institute for Leadership Development); work with the Director of Operations to design and implement a relevant, practical undergraduate leadership curriculum; collaborate with other colleges and offices at Troy to assimilate all leadership activities under the Institute for Civic and Global Leadership; oversee summer leadership camps, including HOBY, Lions Club Leadership Camp, Boys State, and future American Village activities; oversee the coordination of the John Robert Lewis Leadership Lecture in February of each year; plan and implement leadership-themed study abroad opportunities for TROY students; collaborate with Global Leadership PhD faculty and students to enrich leadership programs for undergraduate and high school students; bring notable leadership guest speakers to the Troy campus on a regular basis; work with the Office of Development to raise funds; present leadership lectures to Troy students in conjunction with the Chancellor’s Capstone Leadership Class and the Global Leadership PhD; serve as an ambassador for Troy’s LEADChange marketing initiative; and craft and implement a strategic vision for the Institute for Civic and Global Leadership.Minimum Qualifications

1. Master’s degree

2. Extensive civic, corporate, education, or military leadership experiencePreferred Qualifications

1. Terminal degree with a leadership focus, specialization, or emphasis
2. Extensive leadership experience in a large organization where the individual was responsible for many individuals and reported to high-level authorities at local, state, and national levels
3. Extensive experience working with individuals from diverse cultures including international individuals
4. Extensive experience planning curriculum, teaching, and working with students and faculty
5. Training and knowledge of information technology and extensive hands-on ability in addition to extensive experience teaching online
6. Proven ability to work across a large organization and in a university setting, where the candidate will be expected to work with other colleges and departments across the university
7. Previous experience as a course director with responsibility for overseeing the course content as well as other instructors
8. Working knowledge of military education and training, especially helpful for working with online instruction, as well as with students on campus who have military experience or who are from military families
9. Global awareness from study and/or travel to various culturesWill this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?

Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibilityWork Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm
