The Department of Social Work invites applications for one full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning Academic Year 2020-2021. Our department is housed in a medium size, teaching-focused public university. Teach a range of courses in our BSW, MSW, and DSW programs. Experience collegial support in community service and successful scholarship, including opportunities for research and development in community and organizational practice, international social work with emphasis on qualitative methods of inquiry. The successful applicant should be able to teach all levels of courses, doctoral to undergraduate, during both week and weekend schedules. Skills teaching with online learning platforms are required. Teach foundation and advanced social work practice generalist courses as well as qualitative methods of research using NVivo qualitative analysis software. Expertise in international social work with focus on community development and antipoverty approaches required. Proven ability to teach at a doctoral level and lead dissertations is essential. Demonstrated community service and a record of scholarship expected.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service.
Ph.D. in Social Work or DSW is required, along with an MSW from a CSWE accredited university. In addition, the equivalent of three academic years of teaching experience and experience with doctoral teaching and advising are required. Demonstrated success of implementation of a scholarly agenda with a record of successful publications required.
