Position Summary:
The Department of Biological Sciences at Arkansas State University invites applications for a temporary position at the rank of Instructor. This position is full-time, and includes university health and retirement benefits.
The successful candidates will have an M.S. in Biology or related discipline. Prior experience in teaching college-level Human Anatomy & Physiology is preferred, but not required
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the teaching and service mission of the department, which currently has approximately 550 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students
- Actual workload will be assigned by the Chair of the Department, and will involve mostly service courses to students majoring in areas outside of biology (e.g., general education, nursing, kinesiology, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated contributions to teaching subjects within the biological sciences.
General Days/Hours:
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Master’s Degree in the biological sciences, or an equivalent degree appropriate to the discipline is required
Prior experience teaching at the college level, and with web-based content management, is preferred
