Job description

Landmark College (LC) is a unique, mission-driven private liberal arts institution dedicated exclusively to bright, college-capable neurodivergent students—including those with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges. As a small residential campus, LC fosters close faculty–student relationships, highly individualized learning environments, and a culture where innovative pedagogy is both encouraged and supported. Faculty join a collaborative community committed to helping students discover their academic strengths and achieve their full potential.

Located in scenic southern Vermont, our campus offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful, tight-knit academic community surrounded by natural beauty, with easy access to the vibrant tri-state cultural region of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts—and within driving distance of Boston and New York.

Landmark College is experiencing exciting programmatic and enrollment growth in STEM. We invite applications for a full-time, on-campus Assistant Professor of Chemistry (or related field such as biochemistry or biomedical sciences), beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach a variety of chemistry-based courses supporting our Biology and Health Sciences programs, as well as STEM courses for non-majors. Depending on expertise, teaching opportunities may range from introductory coursework to advanced, specialized electives.

As part of our small-campus model, faculty have meaningful opportunities to mentor and collaborate with undergraduate researchers. Our STEM division is actively engaged in two NSF-funded initiatives, with additional grant proposals underway, creating a vibrant and growing research culture.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree (or commensurate experience) in chemistry or a closely related discipline
  • College-level teaching experience or significant HS teaching experience with upper level students; experience working with neurodivergent learners is highly desirable
  • Commitment to learner-centered pedagogy and inclusive instructional practices
  • Interest in mentoring undergraduate research and contributing to a collaborative STEM community

All new faculty participate in a supportive, yearlong on-campus orientation program designed to help them thrive within our distinctive educational model.

If you are excited by the idea of teaching in your discipline while contributing to a mission-driven college that changes the lives of neurodivergent students, Landmark College offers an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Compensation: At Landmark College, our compensation philosophy reflects our institutional values, our commitment to fairness and equity, and our role as a transformative educational community. The compensation for the above position is $60K-$75K.
