Join our dynamic faculty team in shaping the future of cybersecurity education as an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity. In this role, you will teach in-depth and hands-on technical courses in Cybersecurity topics including Computer and Network Security, Systems Administration, and Networking, with potential secondary teaching responsibilities in Computer Science or Digital Forensics.

The position involves a teaching load of four courses per semester, complemented by course and curriculum development, student advising, and industry outreach. As a faculty member, you will have the opportunity to supervise student teams, projects, and clubs while contributing to departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate who brings both academic credentials and practical industry experience to prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity field. Your expertise will help shape the next generation of cybersecurity professionals through our innovative, career-focused educational approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development

  • Teach four courses per semester in cybersecurity, computer science, or digital forensics
  • Develop and update course materials and curriculum to reflect current industry standards and emerging technologies
  • Incorporate hands-on, practical learning experiences that prepare students for real-world challenges
  • Maintain currency in the field through ongoing professional development

Student Engagement & Advisement

  • Provide academic and career advisement to students in the cybersecurity program
  • Supervise student teams, projects, and clubs to enhance learning outside the classroom
  • Support students in developing their professional portfolios and career readiness
  • Mentor students through research projects and industry-connected initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Business (eCommerce), Cybersecurity, or related field; or a bachelor’s degree in Business (eCommerce), Cybersecurity, or related field plus significant industry experience
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in the cybersecurity industry

Additional Information:
Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time, in-person faculty position based at our main campus in Burlington, Vermont
  • Academic year appointment with typical faculty schedule following the college calendar
  • Expectations to participate in academic division meetings, commencement, and other key campus events throughout the academic year
