Job description

The Department of Computer Science at Eastern Connecticut State University invites applications for tenure track Assistant Professor positions to begin Fall 2026. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, scholarship, student advisement, and university and community service. ECSU is especially interested in faculty with demonstrated excellence in teaching in a liberal arts curriculum and sensitivity to diverse populations and perspectives.

The department is particularly interested in applicants with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Leaming, Data Science, and Software Engineering. However, applicants with expertise in any area of Computer Science will be considered.

Position Description:

The applicant is expected to teach undergraduate computer science courses at all levels. The applicant will also have opportunities to teach in an Applied Data Science Master’s program. The workload is equivalent to 12 credit hours per semester. Responsibilities for the position also include curriculum development, research, advising, and service to the department.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, completed before August 2026, and have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and scholarly research.

Compensation and Employee Benefits:

The Assistant Professor – Computer Science, Tenure Track is compensated at the Assistant Professor salary level in accordance with Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (CSU-AAUP).
