Full-time Job Announcement
Position: Mathematics Instructor
Location: Athens Campus
Department: General Education, Online Learning, and Dual Enrollment
Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
- Use appropriate teaching, testing, and grading techniques.
- Demonstrate current knowledge of the subject area.
- Use effective written and oral communication skills.
- Maintain educational records.
- Develop curriculum and Blackboard course shells.
- Use technology and learning management systems appropriate to the subject taught.
- Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Assist with student recruitment, retention, advisement, and placement; advisory committee meetings and fulfillment of accreditation requirements.
- Advise/Counsel students on a regular basis and maintain appropriate advisement records.
- Provide necessary support and assistance to students outside of class by maintaining office hours/access.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in mathematics or related field with at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in mathematics. Graduate hours in math education, teaching, or statistics are not sufficient.
- Proven proficiency with computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Office and mathematics applications software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings when needed, with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel to multiple campuses, including high school and career academy sites.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience teaching college-level mathematics courses.
- Previous teaching experience and experience using MyMathLab or MyOpenMath.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, especially in technical or community colleges.
