Summary of Position

The College of Health Professions School of Nursing, is seeking to fill a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track nursing faculty position which includes teaching and related responsibilities associated with the DNP, MSN, and BSN programs depending on program needs and individual qualifications. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January, 2026 at the earliest and May, 2026 at the latest.

Position Type: Faculty – Temporary & Continuing

Required Education

Master of Science degree in Nursing and PhD in Nursing/DNP (PhD or DNP in Nursing within one year of completion will be considered).

Required Work Experience

Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
Previous experience in Nursing Education.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered

Current advanced clinical practice or in an area of nursing leadership. Previous teaching experience and curriculum development in an accredited nursing program.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
* Provide classroom and online instruction as assigned.
* Participation in curriculum development, program evaluation and accreditation compliance.
* Maintain currency within the discipline in area(s) of expertise.
* Maintain a consistent physical presence on the main campus for the purpose of engagement in the University community and the advancement of the nursing programs.
* Adhere to the policies of the college and university.
* Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty members may be required to teach off campus or in on online environment.

* Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
* Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
