Description
The School of Analytics, Finance, and Economics of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants to teach the online, 8-week course BA 529B: Financial Analytics in Spring 2026 (mid March through Mid May). Opportunities to teach other online Analytics courses (both graduate and undergraduate) could arise in later semesters (and subject to budgetary conditions) for someone demonstrating overall teaching effectiveness in Spring 2026.
The position holds 25% FTE in Spring 2026 but could expand above 25% in later semesters depending on teaching load. This position is represented by SIU Carbondale Non-Tenure Track Faculty Association/IEA-NEA. The target salary offer for this position at fulltime is $8,000.00 monthly. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Actual salary for part-time appointment’s will be prorated based on the percentage FTE of the appointment.
Examples of Duties
Teach and develop a high-quality online course: effectively communicating with students both inside and outside the classroom, developing assessments such as homework and exams; grading these assessments; and completing course paperwork commensurate with that of an instructor.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in Business, Economics, or Statistics.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience at the collegiate level, previous online teaching experience, and previous experience teaching a financial analytics course.
