Position Overview:
Miami Dade College (MDC) is seeking an experienced business educator and leader to serve as the Department Chairperson for Business at Wolfson Campus: . What you will be doing:
- Lead the Business department in curriculum development and academic planning.
- Manage faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation.
- Foster relationships with industry leaders to create internship and career opportunities for students.
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and department operations.
- Assess student success metrics and implement strategies to improve retention and graduation rates.
- Ensure programs meet accreditation and industry standards.
What you need to succeed:
- Master’s degree in a business discipline and at least five (5) years of related experience in higher education, corporate training, or industry leadership. Experience may include teaching, executive management, consulting, entrepreneurship, or corporate operations. All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Skilled in designing business education programs that integrate industry trends and workforce demands.
- Proven expertise in financial management, team development, and implementing student success strategies.
- Experience building partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and industry leaders.
- Strong leadership, strategic communication, and organizational abilities to drive growth and innovation.
