Job Summary

The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, is seeking an assistant professor to join our Master of Science and Entry-Level Doctorate Occupational Therapy Programs that includes expanding programs, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, engaging diverse perspectives in occupational therapy, and community partnerships through experientials with interprofessional education. The position is available immediately with a preferred January 2026 targeted start date. This is a full-time, 11-month core faculty position.

Key responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching within the occupational therapy curriculum; advising to meet diverse student needs; assisting in recruitment and admission activities; engaging in scholarly activity relevant to areas of interest and/or expertise that contributes to the Department scholarly agenda; and attending Department, School and College events and performing service through committee assignments at the Department, School and College level. The successful candidate will contribute to work with diverse populations and will advance the Benedictine Values of the College.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement is an entry-level occupational therapy doctorate degree or post-professional or research doctorate (e.g. OTD, PhD, EdD, ScD)
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certified.
  • Eligible for OT licensure in Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving and interacting with cultural humility in settings with diverse populations that reflects community, hospitality, and respect.
  • Prior teaching experience in occupational therapy or other adult education.
  • Evidence of continuing education to support the value of love of learning and professional occupational therapy practice.
  • Service to the profession and/or community.
  • Evidence of scholarship or evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrated skill in use of technology and ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Experience in neurorehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, orthopedics, and older adults.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience with three years preferred.
