The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Dutchess Community College invites applications for a Tenure Track Full-time faculty position in the Human Services Program. This position involves teaching programmatic lecture courses and coordinating / supervising students enrolled in internship courses as needed. The Tenure Track full-time faculty position will begin January of 2026.
The position opening is for a faculty member to primarily teach clinically based social work / psychology courses (Introduction to Human Services, Interviewing and Counseling, Therapeutic Interventions) while also working collaboratively with other full-time faculty to advance Human Services internship opportunities throughout the Department’s Human Services curriculum. Other lower- and upper-level courses may be assigned in program areas as needed. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advising community college students. In addition, reviewing student academic plans, attending all required departmental and college meetings and becoming an active participant in the college community would be expected.

Job Requirements:
Master’s degree in Human Service, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. A successful candidate will have experience teaching online, preferably with experience using Brightspace. Knowledge and experience in working with clients/consumers/recipients of service a must. The candidates need to be creative thinkers that understand trends in the field and see themselves as a visionary.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with or teaching community college students and to those with an understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education. Preferred candidates will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of assessment in course and program development. A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction is strongly preferred.
