Division/Department Information

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Physician Assistant faculty member to join the Master of Science in Physician Assistant graduate program. In this role, the successful candidate would work collaboratively with physician assistant colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical practice competence, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in faculty governance.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Department Chair and Program Director, responsible for:

  • Recruitment, application review, interviewing and selection of applicants for admission to the program
  • Coordination and instruction of didactic and clinical year PA students including lecture content, physical diagnosis, and procedural lab instruction
  • Evaluation of student performance and providing remediation as needed
  • Student advisement and counseling
  • Serving as an active member of program, department, and university committees
  • Contributing to ongoing accreditation activities through program self-assessment/self-study as per ARC-PA and university standards
  • Participation and development of new clinical site affiliations and performing site visits
  • Assist the Clinical Coordinator in the development, scheduling, and evaluation of clinical rotations; maintain communication with preceptors and clinical sites; support student clinical placement, documentation, and compliance with ARC-PA standards
  • Engaging in active service, research, and scholarship
  • Continuous faculty/professional development

Duties and Responsibilities are not limited to the above and can be altered by the Department Chair and Program Director as needed to fulfill ARC-PA and program requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program
  • Master’s degree or higher in a field related to the PA profession
  • Current NCCPA Certification
  • Current or eligible New York State licensure
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in a clinical setting as a Physician Assistant
  • Interprofessional and/or simulation education experience is desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time management and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a PA program (*preferred)
  • Preference to candidates who demonstrate scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations) and active participation in community and/or professional organizations.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $97,500 – $110,000.
