Job Description
Tennessee State University College of Business invites applications for the position of Director of Experiential Learning, Career Management, and Public Service.
Job responsibilities:
- Develops and maintain relationships with corporations that provide internships and placement opportunities to College of Business (COB) students.
- Advises students about internships and permanent placement and assist them in obtaining such.
- Assist students, in collaboration with the Career Development center, in credential and resume preparation, interviewing and job placement.
- Maintains a database of students resumes, including names and number of students who interviewed for internships and employment opportunities as well as post-graduation status.
- Develops and implement the public service programs and activities of the College of Business.
- Responsible for COB events planning and implementation, student recruitment and enrichment, overseeing the activities of COB student organizations, managing COB alumni relations, maintaining College’s social media presence and promotional activities.
- Develops and oversees the College’s internship, career placement, and public service sections of the website. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: MA/MS/MBA (preferred) degree in Business or a related field of study.
Experience: Minimum two years of experience and success with experiential learning pedagogy and programming, overseeing student-work relationships, placing students in internships and permanent careers, working with the educational community, the business community and community constituents. Must be professional, highly motivated, creative, and dedicated to performing quality work.
