Position Summary:
The Cannon College of Arts and Sciences at Wingate University invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor position in philosophical or theological ethics to start August 1, 2026. The ideal
candidate will have graduate training and interest in teaching a variety of courses in ethics, philosophy, and religion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • This position will focus primarily on supporting our general education program and its goals to

provide students with a well-rounded and transformative education to prepare them for
successful lives and diverse careers in the mid-21st century. It will also contribute to the Religion
and Philosophy major and faith-related initiatives on campus. The teaching load is four courses
(12 contact hours) in both the fall and spring semesters.

  • Regular, predictable attendance on campus
  • Alignment with University mission, vision, and strategic roadmap
  • Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned

Minimum Requirements:
A terminal degree and teaching experience in at least one of the disciplines above are required. Interest
and experience in working with students beyond the classroom (advising, research, recruitment, and
other service work) and teaching general education courses are preferred.
