Brevard College seeks an enthusiastic teacher to join a thriving Psychology Program in a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology, beginning in the fall of 2026. We seek a dedicated teacher who will participate fully in a Psychology Program that emphasizes experiential learning and application. Faculty in the program participate in curriculum development, advising students, program assessment, and all other aspects of the program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of, or potential for, excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to working within a diverse liberal arts environment.
Candidates considered for this position will possess a terminal degree in a relevant field (e.g. PhD or PsyD in psychology or sociology), in hand by the starting date. Candidates with a masters degree may be considered for a non-tenure-track appointment. Candidates must be interested in teaching courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, including introductory courses, general education courses, and upper-level courses. Teaching responsibilities include introductory psychology, lifespan development, and other coursework emphasizing developmental psychology. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours/semester, and all faculty members actively contribute to program assessment, serve on committees, advise students, and participate in professional development and service to the College.
