Job description

The Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management (KWS) at The University of Memphis invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor, with a focus on experiential learning and industry engagement.

This role will oversee all experiential learning initiatives for students in the Sport and Leisure Management (B.S.), Hospitality and Resort Management (B.A.), and Sport Commerce (M.S.) programs, in addition to future programs within the Kemmons Wilson School. The primary responsibilities include coordinating internships, field experiences, and other applied learning opportunities while cultivating and maintaining partnerships with hospitality, sport, and entertainment organizations in the Memphis metropolitan area and beyond.

This position serves as a key liaison between the School, students, and industry partners-ensuring meaningful, high-impact learning experiences that enhance student career readiness and strengthen the Kemmons Wilson School’s connection to the regional and national business community.

This position will report directly to the interim dean, Dr. Richard Bloomer.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Sport Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a closely related field.

Special Conditions:
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to attend industry events or student functions.
