Job description
The Department of Psychology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake invites applications for a full-time, non tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer beginning Fall 2026. This position is not open for fully remote applicants.
The position will be open until filled, with priority given to applications received by January 31, 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately. UHCL reserves the right to extend the search or not fill the position.
Duties:
- Teaching four classes per semester (fall and spring) at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Courses may be in-person, hybrid, or online. Summer teaching opportunities may be available.
- Advising students as well as participating in committees and other university service.
Qualifications
Required:
- Earned a master’s degree in Psychology or closely related field.
- Ability to teach courses in psychology that meet the needs of the department.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching including the use of innovative pedagogical strategies that will meet the needs of our students.
Preferred:
- Earned a doctoral degree in Psychology or closely related field, or ABD if terminal degree is anticipated by the hire date.
- Qualified to teach social psychology and related courses.
- Evidence of additional training in statistics (e.g., certificate, emphasis, or similar) or experience in teaching statistics or research methodology.
- Evidence of training in teaching pedagogy or demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the college level.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching students similar to the student population at UHCL.
- Demonstrated potential for mentoring or advising students.
- Demonstrated potential to maintain graduate faculty status through the production of research or scholarship.
