The Neumann University School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Education invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank to begin in Spring 2026. The position is in the CACREP accredited Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching and supervision across the clinical mental health counseling curriculum, supporting program and student needs.
Faculty Protocol:
- Candidates should be aware that Neumann University does not have a system of tenure but instead offers faculty a policy-governed system of promotion and increasingly extended contracts with faculty seniority.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Evidence of identification with the counseling profession through memberships, credentials, professional development, service, and scholarly activities.
- Sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations.
- Evidence of professional engagement through at least two of the following: a) professional development and renewal activities related to counseling, b) professional service and advocacy in counseling, c) ongoing counseling practice, or d) research and scholarly activity in counseling commensurate with their faculty role.
- A commitment to working with a diverse population of students.
- Licensure in Pennsylvania or licensure eligible.
- Candidates must possess an appreciation for, congruence with, and commitment to the Franciscan mission of the University that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates who have an academic background in clinical mental health counseling that shows knowledge of the integration of spiritual and clinical aspects of therapy.
- Experience in the integration of spiritual and clinical aspects of therapy.
- Evidence of counseling, supervision, and teaching experience in counselor education.
- At least one clinical experience specialty area.
