Job Description

Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking an English faculty member. The primary responsibilities include teaching first-year college-level composition, developmental writing, and other English course offerings. The position may include online instruction. The English Department seeks equity-minded candidates who will participate and lead in discipline, division, campus, and college matters through service on committees. Continued professional development is expected.

The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will be at the Cambridge campus. There is an expectation that this colleague will also be available to teach on the Rapids campus when the need arises.

Salary Range:

Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303-$94,542. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.

**Please note, Initial Step placement is established by the MSCF contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new Faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree with a major in English or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in English.

Preferred Qualification

  • Demonstrated commitment towards building a more culturally and racially diverse community;
  • Graduate coursework and teaching experience in composition/rhetoric;
  • Pedagogical coursework or experience teaching other courses in the field, such as literature and creative writing;
  • Experience teaching online and using instructional technology in the classroom;
  • Experience with utilizing strategies to eliminate equity gaps;
