Duties
Support the goals and mission of the college; provide quality instruction to students; and communicate with your department chair or administrator and contribute to the growth of a vibrant applied music studio through teaching, outreach, and participation in ensembles, concerts and events. Teaching duties will consist of a selection from a variety of discipline courses at the community college level, including Music Theory/Aural Skills curriculum; teaching applied lessons on a primary instrument, curriculum planning and assessment.Education/Experience
- Master’s degree in Music required (Music Performance, Music Theory or closely related Music field with 18 graduate hours in Music).
- Post-secondary/college level teaching experience (minimum of two or more years)
- Demonstrated professional experience in music field (performer, composer, or related)
- Familiarity with music technology (music notation software and digital audio workstations)
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards for classroom instruction. Applies innovative teaching methods and demonstrates ability to work with students at all skill levels. Teaching duties will consist of preparing, instructing, and evaluating courses; seeking continuous improvement in teaching methodology and student-centered learning
Preferred qualifications sought in addition to above requirements include:
- Experience teaching in a community college or undergraduate liberal arts setting.
- Experience with outreach, curriculum development and program assessment.
- Ability to teach applied lessons in woodwinds or brass (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of music technology, including music notation software and digital audio workstations such as (DAWs): Ableton, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or similar

Faculty teach a minimum of 15 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. Teaching and other duties may include evenings and weekends.Salary/Wage
$58,623-$71,670 (Base Load is 15 ECH)Hourly/Salary: Salaried
