Description of Job Duty:
The School of Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University invites candidates to apply for a full-time twelve-month, non-tenure track Clinical Track faculty position in Child Life to begin July 1, 2026.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:The successful candidate will be expected to teach Child Life courses, and other courses as needed, as well as assist with mentoring and retention of students. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:PhD or terminal degree from an accredited institution at the time of appointment in Human Development/Sciences or Family Studies/Sciences or closely related fieldCredentialing as a Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Certification CommissionMinimum of five years of professional experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist post credentialingOral and written communication skills at a level appropriate to convey information to and from students, colleagues and others in a clear mannerPreferred Qualifications:Minimum of seven years of professional experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist post credentialingEvidence of at least two years of college level teaching experience as primary instructor online or in-personExperience with supervising child life internship students as a clinical preceptorEvidence of experience with advising and mentoring studentsKnowledge of curriculum design, experience with various teaching methods including online delivery and assessment of learningActive membership in the Association of Child Life Professionals with expectation to join the Child Life Academic Society once employedDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in both university and community settings with faculty, staff, and students, and various community stakeholders
