Job description

The School of Communication, English, and World Languages is seeking an Assistant Professor for American Sign Language Studies degree in the ASLE program to begin Fall 2026.

The Assistant Professor has the primary responsibility of instruction in the classroom for students enrolled in American Sign Language courses, as well as ensuring the success and retention of students while maintaining high academic standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters Degree in American Sign Language Teaching, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Education or ASL/Deaf Studies as an appropriate field of study required with a minimum of 18 hours in the discipline. Qualified applicants nearing completion of a Master’s Degree or 18 hours in the discipline will also be considered.
