The School of Business and Professional Studies invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Special Education and Disability Studies to start Fall 2025.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in special education, disability studies, and other courses according to program need and candidate expertise; supervising initial field placement students, as well as student teaching interns; actively participating in program development, including online offerings aligned with accreditation/state mandates and professional standards; fostering and maintaining relationships with PK-12 school partners; supporting student recruitment efforts; and leading the Disability Studies Minor (in collaboration with the Director of Interdisciplinary Studies). Scholarly activity and output appropriate to rank and consistent with the teacher-scholar model is expected, as well as service to the university, community, and profession. We are looking for field-specific expertise accompanied by an ability to teach students following a broad range of pathways in the liberal arts and sciences. Successful candidates will be excited by the opportunity to engage in intentional collaborative research and curricular and co-curricular experiences across programs, departments, and schools. Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Education, Special Education, Disability Studies, or related field (if ABD, doctorate must be completed by Dec. 2025);
  • Three years of successful PK-12 teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of successful PK-12 teaching experience;
  • Experience teaching at the collegiate level;
  • Experience developing and teaching online coursework;
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive teaching;
  • Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinarity;
  • Evidence of successful recruitment efforts.
