Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University.

Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Electrical Engineering program within the College of Engineering and Science (COES) at Louisiana Tech University for highly qualified research-active faculty. The vision of the COES is to be a national leader in integrating engineering and science in education and research. The College is experiencing significant growth in several program areas and is therefore undertaking an aggressive faculty recruiting campaign. The College seeks to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. To build a diverse workforce, the college encourages applications from those traditionally underrepresented in science and engineering, including women, individuals with disabilities, minorities, and veterans. We are especially interested in candidates who want to join a faculty that endeavors to merge fundamental theory, concepts, and approaches with interdisciplinary domain knowledge to address key societal challenges.

The candidate must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Proven research track record, outstanding teaching skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to high quality student success are expected.  Successful candidates will be expected to perform exceptional research, procure extramural funding to support research, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and teach effectively both at undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants are sought whose unique skills and interests can form the basis for new research thrusts, complement ongoing work in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, microelectronics, nanoelectronics, embedded sensors, wireless sensor systems, robotics, as well as communication, control and power systems; and enable collaborations with the various research centers at the university, such as the Institute for Micromanufacturing. Opportunities for collaboration are also available through the Louisiana Tech Research Institute (LTRI) in numerous research areas in the cyber domain.

Louisiana Tech is designated as a national university by the 2024 U.S. News & World Report college rankings. COES currently enrolls almost 3,000 students, including nearly 300 graduate students (approximately 125 doctoral students). Annual research expenditures of the College have averaged $16M over the past five years. More details about the College and the Electrical Engineering program are available at: https://coes.latech.edu/. Both undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered in Electrical Engineering. The College also offers doctoral degrees in both Engineering and Computational Analysis and Modeling, providing opportunities for Electrical Engineering faculty to direct doctoral students.
