The College of Humanities and Science and the School of Health and Wellness at North Greenville University invites applicants for the position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Physical Education beginning August 2025. This is full-time position. The ideal applicant will hold a Ph.D. in physical education, have 5+ years of K-12 physical education teaching experience as well as experience with special populations. Those with considerable K-12 teaching experience who hold a terminal degree in a related field are also invited to apply. Rank will be commensurate with academic experience.
The successful applicant will teach various undergraduate courses in such areas as adaptive physical education, rhythmics, grade level appropriate pedagogy, personal fitness, and activity classes. Applicants with publications, grant writing experience, experience using Blackboard, and experience integrating their Christian faith into their instruction will be preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach in-person 4/4 load (opportunities to teach summer, online, or other courses may become available)
- Maintain office hours
- Advise students
- Serve on faculty committees
- Participate in campus events (e.g., convocation, graduation)
- Model genuine Christian faith in and beyond classroom
- Intentionally and explicitly integrate the Christian faith with your teaching and scholarship
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility: Able to move between buildings and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus.
- Speaking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, professionally, and with a contextually appropriate tone and volume.
- Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest, collegial, constructive, and prudent manner
TRAVEL
- All faculty are expected to be able to travel to campus for all class sessions and occasional departmental and faculty meetings.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS and SCHEDULE
This is a full time, nine month teaching contract. Physical education faculty report to the Department Chair, the Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences, and the Provost.
