University of the Ozarks invites applications for a new position in Graphic Design. The new position will be a tenure track Assistant Professor of Art with specialization in Graphic Design beginning July 2025.
Candidates must be motivated to work with students from all disciplines and majors, complementing the current faculty inArt within the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts and across divisional boundaries. This position is a 4:4 load; teaching twenty-four (24) credit hours per academic year in a generalist Graphic Design curriculum.Candidates should have knowledge of a diverse range of approaches in the field of graphic design(typography, branding, publication design, animation, web design, and/or emerging technologies) and will beresponsible to maintain and manage the graphic design computer lab and equipment.The ideal applicant for this position would hold an MFA or MA in Graphic Design or a masters in a related field from an accredited university. Preference will be given to applicants with higher-education teaching experience and are active with their graphic design practice.
Applicants with a minimum of two years of exceptional professional practice, a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from an accredited institution, and who will have acquired a terminal degree in Graphic Design or related field from an accredited institution within one year of hire may also be considered.University of the Ozarks values personal attention and collegiality, thus a familiarity with andunderstanding of a small and residential campus are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate astrong interest in working with a culturally diverse student body. Excellent communication skills and support of the University’s mission are also required.
