Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant professor position in management information systems to start in August 2025. The successful candidate is expected to teach, conduct scholarly research, mentor students, and contribute service to the university and community.
The management information systems discipline is housed in the Department of Entrepreneurship, Technology and Law within the Foster College of Business. We are a committed, student-centered program located in Central Illinois that prioritizes accessible undergraduate management information systems education, effective teaching pedagogy, and dedication to an inclusive learning environment.
The cybersecurity concentration within the management information systems major has been validated by the National Security Agency and Bradley University has been designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). The capstone experience of our cybersecurity programs allows students to serve on the Bradley Red Team and conduct semester-long security assessments for local business clients.
Responsibilities:
We seek applicants with teaching and research interests related to cybersecurity. The position would teach a 3/3 load in the cybersecurity program. A course release will be provided for the first two years. The position would require that the faculty member assist the Center of Cybersecurity with course and program design. Commitment to and evidence of outstanding teaching, significant publication potential and a focused research agenda are required. Faculty are expected to collaborate with colleagues in the department and across campus on research and strategic initiatives, and be willing to engage in on-line instruction.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in information systems or a related field is required. Candidates near completion prior to the start date will be considered.
- The primary field of teaching and research specialization will be cybersecurity. Ideal candidates would have experience teaching networking and security courses.
- Applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to, creating an inclusive environment and the ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
