Salary Range: $67,820 to $77,156 per 172-day academic year contract, dependent upon education/experience
*This position qualifies for $6,933/year in high demand supplemental salary in addition to the annual contract amount above.

Help students master skills that are in demand across accounting fields and gain foundational knowledge of broader business concepts. Our students learn to analyze financial information and apply practical accounting practices across business structures. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise students, assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs and curricula, participate in Shoreline governance, department, division and campus-related professional activities, and industry-focused advisory meetings. Additionally, this position is expected to support and advise (along with other unit faculty) for the Shoreline Community College chapter of DECA. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching accounting courses including Financial and Managerial Accounting. NOTE: An on-campus presence is required for this position.
Faculty at Shoreline will have an array of students from differing programs in their classroom, including professional technical and university transfers. Shoreline seeks a candidate that can identify and mitigate the barriers to success that many students face and be passionate about creating an equitable learning environment that supports success for all students. Required Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Business with a minimum of 15 graduate credits in accounting, OR closely related field.
- Two (2) years of full-time work OR teaching experience in accounting, business management, finance, or a closely related field.
Knowledge of
- Microsoft Office programs, learning management systems and other appropriate instructional technology (ex. ctcLink, Canvas, Starfish, etc.)
- Proficiency in relevant technological tools and software used in accounting education and practice
Skill in
- Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness
- Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the instruction of Accounting
- Experience with or willingness to gain experience with teaching and developing coursework online
- Contributing to equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and competence
- Effective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels inside and outside the College
- Adapting to a variety of teaching situations with students from diverse backgrounds/abilities
- Developing/modifying curriculum both collaboratively and independently
- Working and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators, and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Conditions of Employment
Physical Work Environment
The College is currently in mixed (both in-person and online) operations, with the option of some assignments to be completed in an online environment based on program or area needs. If authorized by the College for remote (online) instruction, faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. For on-campus in-person instruction, work is usually performed in a classroom/office space that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers and media equipment in the work environment.
Term Of Employment/Salary
- This is a full-time, tenure-track position
- 172-day annual contract beginning September 18, 2025
- Salary placement is determined by the number of qualifying years of teaching/work experience combined with related education.
- This position is overtime-exempt.
- Other conditions that may apply will be detailed upon offer of employment.
- Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
