Non-tenure clinical position available in the BSN Nursing Program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with other faculty members with implementation and evaluation of clinical objectives.
- Direct and indirect supervision of students in diverse clinical settings.
- Provide clinical experiences for students in accordance with clinical objectives.
- Evaluation of students in clinic/lab settings.
- Adhere to university policies and procedures.
- Maintain clinical expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience preferred; two years of full-time clinical experience in the area/areas of teaching responsibility; knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:
- Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri, current healthcare provider CPR.
- BSN from an Accredited College or University that includes a clinical component. Meet the Missouri State Board of Nursing requirements for contingent faculty.
- Masters in nursing degree preferred.
- A doctorate degree in nursing or related field preferred.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Attends nursing pinning and commencement ceremony.
- Participates in disseminating information about the School of Nursing.
Certifications, Licenses, Registration:
- Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri, current healthcare provider CPR.
- BSN from an Accredited College or University that included a clinical component. Meet the Missouri State Board of Nursing requirements for contingent faculty.
- Masters in nursing degree preferred.
- A doctorate degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
- Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Able to actively demonstrate and participate in the skills laboratory and clinical without physical limitations.
- Works in the classroom/laboratory and clinical sites at various locations.
- Ability to travel to and from clinical sites.
- Makes recommendations regarding equipment, software purchases, and equipment maintenance.
- Participates in the School of Nursing budget planning process.
- Collaborates with colleagues in grant writing/fundraising.
