Location: UMHS Campus, St. Kitts

The University of Medicine and Health Sciences-St. Kitts (UMHS) invites applications for a faculty position in Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The successful candidate will play a key role in the education of medical students, contributing to a dynamic team teaching the Pharmacology course during their second year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain course syllabi and learning objectives.
  • Organize and update course content, delivering engaging lectures using modern teaching technologies.
  • Prepare and administer assessments, focusing on student success through accessible office hours and academic counseling.
  • Supervise students in problem-based learning and local clinical settings.
  • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development to align with USMLE requirements.
  • Participate in faculty committees and activities as assigned by the Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or MBBS/MD) in Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience in an accredited medical school (preferably in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, or the UK).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A passion for teaching and student engagement.

Course Overview: MPHM 0910 Pharmacology & Therapeutics (7 credits) focuses on how chemical agents regulate physiological functions, emphasizing pharmacogenetics, drug interactions, and therapeutics of common diseases.
