Garrett College invites applications for a full-time English Faculty position to join its team in McHenry, Maryland. This 10-month faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor rank based on qualification and experience) is responsible for teaching writing, grammar and literature. The ideal candidate will have the ability to also teach communication, reading, developmental students, and high school dual enrolled English courses. Faculty at Garrett College carry a 15-credit/semester teaching load. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a M.A. in English or a Master’s Degree in a closely related field. At least two years of full-time college teaching experience, or the equivalent is required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience using instructional technology in the classroom, a dedication to teaching excellence and the mission of a community college.

Garrett College is a small, rural two-year college located approximately 180 miles west of Baltimore/Washington D.C. and 120 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA. Salary range is $58,415 – $76,580. An outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire.
