Job description
The Department of English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in creative writing (poetry), to begin August 1, 2025.
We welcome applicants with research and/or teaching interests in the form, structure, and technique of poetry writing. We seek a teacher-scholar who will participate fully in the MFA Writing Program’s vibrant literary community.
The successful applicant for this position will teach courses in poetry writing and literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels, will contribute to the supervision of MFA student theses, and will pursue research related to the applicant’s area of specialization.
Qualifications
Applicants must have published a minimum of one book of poetry with a nationally recognized press and demonstrate excellence in teaching. Candidate must have a MFA in Creative Writing or related field.
