Florida Southern College announces a 12-month full-time, permanent tenure track-eligible position in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program. The Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences provides programs for Exercise Science as well as for Nursing, which include the BSN pre- licensure, MSN, and DNP programs. The MSN program includes multiple tracks including Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Administrative Leadership, Nurse Education, and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner tracks.

This faculty position reports directly to the MSN Program Director and is officially supervised by the Dean of the Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The incumbent is responsible for assigned operational and administrative tasks and duties, including coordination of the Family Nurse Practitioner track, as assigned by the Dean. In addition, the incumbent will be an active faculty member of the CCNE-accredited MSN program and may be required to teach in other SNHS programs based on the needs of the School and the College.

Key responsibilities include:

•       Provide both didactic and clinical instruction in the MSN program and other programs as needed to meet the needs of the ABESNHS and Florida Southern College.

•       Maintain positive relationships and actively collaborate with major clinical and community organizations serving the MSN program.

•       Demonstrate collaboration, collegiality, and support for program excellence.

•       Provide advising and mentoring for students to advance student success

•       Engage in research and/or scholarly activities

•        Engage in professional and community service

•        Contribute to ongoing curriculum and program improvements

•       Participate in faculty governance through service on Program, School, and College committees

Requirements include a doctoral degree from an accredited institution, national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Florida nurse practitioner licensure (active or eligible), experience in the nurse practitioner role, and teaching experience at the graduate level. Additional national certifications may also be considered in candidate selection.
