LOCATION: Devils Lake, ND (on-campus)

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a 9-month, tenure-track position.

BACKGROUND CHECK: LRSC requires a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.

JOB SUMMARY: Duties include teaching, curriculum management, assessment, student advising, faculty committees and student recruiting. This position requires the candidate to be physically on-campus a minimum of 35 hours per week and will teach both on-campus and online as determined by the needs of the institution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Communication or a Master’s degree in a related field and 18 graduate credits in Communication. Priority would be given to the candidate who is also faculty qualified to teach English (ENG 110, 120, and 125). Selected candidate who is not faculty qualified must agree to become faculty qualified (earn 18 graduate credits) in English starting the first year of employment. Minimum skill requirements include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capacity to build rapport with students, faculty and staff, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.

Preference will be given to those with documented successful teaching skills and experience with Microsoft Suite, online learning management systems, and Campus Connection. The successful applicant must be highly-motivated and self-directed. The candidate must be able to support the mission of LRSC.

SALARY: $45,000 – $55,000 depending on experience. Overload contracts and online teaching in the summer are traditionally available (but not guaranteed) which can increase earning potential.
