Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.
Horry Georgetown Technical College is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as an Associate Professor, Construction Management Technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry and possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications to effectively teach students in this field. The candidate needs a minimum of 10 years professional experience in the field of construction management. The candidate should have experience in project management, estimating, building codes and inspection.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses:
- Verifiable work experience in Building Construction Trades
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and explain:
- Hand tools, power tools, and stationary tools used in construction
- Blueprint reading, specifications, and construction contracts
- Construction safety and PPE rules and regulations
- Wood floor frame, wall frame, and roof frame construction
- Concrete principles, formwork, placement, and finish
- Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Interior and exterior finish materials and applications
- Estimating and scheduling of construction projects
- Jobsite management and leadership skills
- Construction contracts and project management operations
Advertised Salary:Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave.
Minimum Requirements:Master’s degree in Construction Management / Engineering or a closely related field with demonstrated qualifications in the technology’s teaching discipline. Verifiable professional experience may be accepted in lieu of other requirements as approved by the VP of Academic Affairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word software
- OSHA Trainer Certification preferred
- CMAA, NETTP, LEED, General Contractors License, or Project Management certifications preferred
