The Fain College of Fine Arts at Midwestern State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre – Voice, to begin August of 2025. This is a non-tenure track, ninemonth contract. Midwestern State University is an associate member of NAST and a full member of COPLAC and offers a full undergraduate curriculum in theatre programs.
Description: Voice Specialist, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre. Duties include a twelve-hour teaching load each semester serving as instructor of voice techniques, musical theatre and singing. In addition, this position may also serve as director/musical director/vocal coach/intimacy coach or mentor for departmental productions. Other classes or duties may be assigned, commensurate with experience and/or departmental needs. Other duties include assess students, hold office hours, mentor students, recruiting, establishing strong working relationships with colleagues, and representing the Theatre Department on and off campus.
Qualifications: Terminal degree in theatre, performance studies or a related field required. Experience and/or certifications in singing and voice training required. Applicants experienced in directing, acting and theatre history are encouraged to apply. Functional piano skills to accompany preferred.
