Teaching faculty at GTCC are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.

The Division of Business, Creative and Performing Arts at GTCC seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative business professional/educator to join our team. Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach courses in support of career and transfer Business programs. The ideal candidate will be able to teach across several Business disciplines, such as management and leadership; banking and finance; business math; and business law. Courses may include BUS 121 – Business Math, BUS 125 – Personal Finance, ACC 149 – Intro to Accounting Spreadsheets, and ACC 151 – Accounting Spreadsheet Applications. He/she should be proficient in Microsoft software, including Excel, and should be prepared to integrate technology skills into the classroom, be able to teach at times and locations that meet the needs of our students, and be committed to working constructively with all facets of a growing Business Administration program within a Community College setting.

Education Required:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), or a Master’s degree in a related field that includes 18 graduate hours in Business courses, from an institutionally accredited college/university

Education Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field with 18 graduate hours in Business, Accounting, or Economics from an institutionally accredited college/university

Experience Required:

  • 3 years of recent experience in accounting, banking, finance, or economics.
  • 3 years of post-secondary teaching and/or professional training experience in business administration, accounting, or economics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, or other continuing education seminars

Experience Preferred:

  • More than 3 years of experience in accounting, banking, finance, or economics.
  • More than 3 years of post-secondary teaching and/or professional training experience in business administration, accounting, or economics, in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, or other continuing education seminars
  • The ability to teach across multiple subject areas within the Business program.
  • Community college teaching experience.
  • Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
