Responsibilities:
Nursing faculty opportunity (9-month position) available in the BSN, MSN, and/or Post-Master’s DNP Programs. Primary responsibilities include teaching, research, scholarship, and service. Candidates should demonstrate ongoing intellectual engagement and commitment to professional development and lifelong learning. Successful applicants must be committed to working effectively with a broad range of students representing varied cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds. Responsibilities include clinical and online instruction of undergraduate and graduate students in a competitive, technology-enhanced learning environment. Applicants are also expected to foster a robust educational environment through their research, teaching, and service activities.
Qualifications:
A doctorate in nursing and eligibility for RN licensure in Louisiana or a multistate compact RN license are required. Licensure and certification as an APRN (Family Nurse Practitioner and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner), and previous experience teaching at the MSN and/or DNP levels in an online environment are preferred. Candidates for a tenure track position at the rank of Associate Professor must demonstrate a record of effective teaching and mentoring of undergraduate/graduate students, a consistent record of active scholarly and research productivity, which should include current peer-reviewed publications, peer-reviewed presentations or conference proceedings at local, state, national, and/or international venues, and hold a leadership position related to service activities. Candidates must also demonstrate a strong record of, or potential for, developing a program of funded research that is aligned with the School of Nursing, college, and university priorities. A strong preference will be given to candidates with a track record of federal or extramural funding as the principal investigator, or the potential to receive federal or extramural funding in the near future.
