Job description

The University of Utah School of Dentistry (UUSOD) is accepting applications for a full-time periodontist/clinician scientist to join our dental school faculty. The position is available in the Tenure-line or Career-line (Clinical Track) at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank. Rank will be determined by the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Initial responsibilities will include didactic and clinical periodontal education and mentoring students in the predoctoral program and engaging in research activity. Future teaching responsibilities will include duties in the specialty residency program in periodontology. The goal is to offer periodontal residency training in July 2027.

This position will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care of patients in the restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, oral surgery, and oral diagnosis sections of the UUSOD. Evidence-based care is integral to all our programs.

Qualified candidates must have completed a CODA accredited specialty program in Periodontics. The successful candidate must be a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Qualified candidates should have a DDS or equivalent degree and qualify for a dental license in Utah. Requirements for a Utah dental license is found on DOPL.
