Title: Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice (2 Tenure-Track Positions)
Institution: Lincoln University (PA)
Position Description:
Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, the nation’s first degree-granting Historically Black College and University (HBCU), invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Criminal Justice beginning Fall 2026.

We seek dynamic scholars with expertise in criminological theory, criminal investigation, forensic science, and legal studies, who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, mentoring, and service. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and working with a diverse student body.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses including Criminological Theory, Criminal Investigation, and Forensic Science. Additional law-related courses (e.g., Criminal Law, Courts, Constitutional Law) may be assigned based on expertise.
  • Maintain an active research agenda with potential for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students, including first-generation and historically underrepresented students.
  • Engage in curriculum development, assessment, and departmental service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, or a closely related field by the time of appointment. ABDs will be considered if the Ph.D. is conferred by the start date.
  • Demonstrated potential for effective teaching and scholarly productivity.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and the mission of an HBCU.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience in one or more of the core areas: Criminological Theory, Criminal Investigation, Forensic Science, or Legal Studies.
  • Background or interest in law, courts, or policy.
  • Experience with hands-on or experiential learning approaches.
  • Experience mentoring first-generation college students.
