Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in analytical chemistry to start in August 2026.
Specific Responsibilities
Primary teaching duties will include courses in the department’s introductory sequence (General Chemistry, Methods of Chemical Analysis), the upper-level Instrumental Analysis course, plus a special topics course in the candidate’s area of expertise. In addition, the opportunity exists to participate in the university’s First Year Seminar program. The successful candidate is also expected to develop a research program in analytical or bioanalytical chemistry that has significant undergraduate student involvement.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required, and college-level teaching experience and/or postdoctoral research experience is strongly preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates who have a background in chromatography (HPLC, LC/MS). The successful candidate will demonstrate strong evidence for the potential to provide excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
